Are you a qualified counsellor looking for professional supervision? Are you in another helping profession and would value a safe space to process work stresses and find renewed vitality and creativity in your work?
I have a Postgraduate Diploma in Consultative Supervision and extensive experience of providing supervision to qualified counsellors and other helping professionals, both on a one-to-one basis and in groups.
Why do we need supervision?
Supervision exists primarily to ensure the wellbeing and safety of clients and to enhance the effectiveness of therapeutic relationships.
Supervision provides a safe space in which you can reflect on your work, on your therapeutic relationships and on the impact of your work on your wellbeing. It aims to help you to develop your own ‘internal supervisor’ and ensure that you are taking good care of yourself, both for your own benefit and for that of your clients.
It is very important for us as therapists to ensure that we get the support we need to deal with the emotional pressure of working with clients’ distress. Supervision can help you to recognise when you are getting overloaded, and support you in finding helpful coping strategies.
Who I work with
I am open to enquiries from qualified counsellors seeking individual supervision, and from organisations looking for supervisors for their counsellors and other staff.
Enquiries from other professionals are also welcome, for example teachers, pastors and healthcare professionals, who feel they would benefit from a confidential space to reflect on their practice.
Where I work
I work from a counselling agency in Filton, Bristol BS34. The rooms have a professional feel and are nicely decorated. There is ample parking and wheelchair access is available.
